in version 0.0.99-r1 of freepops the yahoo authentication fails, a downgrade to version 0.0.99 will solve the problem. Yes I do know this is in the development branch, but I noticed there was no bug report on for freepops.

added freepops-0.2.0. Hope it fixed your problem.This version includes /usr/bin/freepops-updater-dialog to update website definations. Hope it works for you. If there is still a problem with yahoo after that can you report this to the main freepops site.
