The solution is documented here http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-pretest-bug/2006-10/msg00016.html.

The simplest workaround would be to include http://cedet.cvs.sourceforge.net/cedet/cedet/semantic/semantic-idle.el?r1=1.34&r2=1.35&view=patch in the ebuild.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make sure semantic is loaded
2. open a file parsed by semantic
3. wait some time until the idle hook is run

This is fixed in the latest testing version since November 2006.  That version will be stabilised, see bug 168422.
