Description Nicolas Bonnefon 2007-02-19 19:11:33 UTC
1. tmpreaper is installed without any default configuration (in cron), maybe it should be included?

2. The example files provided in share/doc (from debian) doesn't work out of the box. In tmpreaper.conf, as /etc/default/rcS doesn't exist, there is an error at line 48: [: : integer expression expected

I think we should install the cron.daily script and /etc/tmpreaper.conf (with the SHOWWARNING=true uncommented for security) by default, and correct /etc/tmpreaper.conf to remove reference to /etc/defaults/rcS.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy the demo config files /usr/share/doc/tmpreaper-1.6.6-r1/tmpreaper.conf.bz2 and /usr/share/doc/tmpreaper-1.6.6-r1/cron.daily.bz2 to /etc and /etc/cron.daily
2. Modify /etc/tmpreaper.conf to remove/comment SHOWWARNING=true
3. Wait for tmpreaper to be run by cron.

Actual Results:
/etc/tmpreaper.conf: line 48: [: : integer expression expected

Ali, I'm just going through a number of maintainer-needed bugs. You were the last one touchin the tmpreaper package. Any chance you'd be so nice to tackle this bug or even fill in the maintainer role?

Sure, tmpreaper-1.6.9 is in CVS. It installs a cron file which can be
configured via /etc/tmpreaper.conf.
