There are a couple of bugs in bugzilla.ximian.org which seem related to this. http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18971 http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6322 6322 is interesting as it discusses Gentoo specifically. Installing packages gob and gnome-pilot before installing evolution seem to make evo work. added the dependency on gob, gnome-pilot is the use of "pda" Hope this solves this bug, since I'm not reproducing it here :/ *** Bug 1839 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Spider, try this if you haven't already: mv ~/evolution ~/evolution.original evolution Then go through the wizard (just enter anything). Then once evolution is started, choose mail settings from the tools menu. Let me know if it doesn't crash at that point. |
