At the end of the nspluginwrapper emerge:

 * Auto installing 32bit plugins...
/usr/lib64/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/lib64/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Did you recently upgrade emul-linux-x86-gtklibs or any other emul-packages?

this has been fixed by the recent upgrade to emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-2.10.6.3-r3
