I am running gentoo kernel 2.6.20 under sun fire x2100 server and its performance is about 1/10 of full speed, (read: unable to use it)

Linux router 2.6.20-gentoo #3 Mon Feb 12 19:16:29 EET 2007 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 146 GNU/Linux

Like, set your link speed properly with ethtool/mii-tool or whatever? This is not a support forum and you didn't post any information to debug the issue, let alone an information that would suggest that it's a Gentoo-specific bug.

I am not sure if this is gentoo spefic, since I am unable to resolve the issue, but there is ethtool output

closed. cisco switch was broken.
