please paste #emerge info Try remerging portage, if that doesn't solve it, I'll edit the ebuild later. Here is the requested output from "emerge info": Portage 2.0.47-r7 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r2) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.20-xfs_pre6 i686 Intel(R) XEON(TM) CPU 2.00GHz GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/ http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/share/config /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" USE="x86 oss 3dnow apm arts avi crypt cups encode gif gpm gtk imlib java jpeg kde gnome libg++ libwww mikmod mmx motif mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl pdflib png qt quicktime sdl spell svga truetype X xml2 xmms xv zlib gdbm berkdb slang readline tcpd pam ssl perl python -alsa imap junit maildir mozilla samba mysql" COMPILER="gcc3" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" MAKEOPTS="-j2" AUTOCLEAN="yes" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" FEATURES="sandbox ccache This is a brand new install (i.e. the latest version of portage). I hacked up the ebuild myself so I don't need a patch. I just wanted you to be aware of this since it could have a major impact on the acceptance of 1.4. If you could (even though you are on the latest -r of portage already) please remerge portage and then try the original gentoo-sources ebuild again... That seems to have fixed the problem. What was going on there? Someone in the neighborhood of carpaski and azarah knows... but I certainly do not... I just know that when I asked carpaski about a similar problem he said "remerge portage" so I did and it worked. Carpaski? |
