Problem solved in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=166282 emerge libsdl with the "opengl" flag set Alright, it works. $ USE="opengl" emerge libsdl $ wings does the job. Recompiling of wings was not necessary. As mentioned in bug 166282, the wings ebuild script should check for that flag. I'll leave the bug open for now.
