This doesn't really look like a dup' of 16315, which latter doesn't seem to address the control characters problem. When I ran mirrorselect as instructed in the QuickInstall guide, it first gave an error about not finding "portageq", but then it went on to complete mangle my make.conf file. This using stage 2 of the latest 2004.2 universal live CD from ftp://gentoo.osuosl.org. |
