the kde metabar sidebar was included in main kde.
kde-misc/metabar was needed for older versions of kde.
now, as the metabar is included in konq-plugins, I see no reason for its ebuild to exists (it even blocks konq-plugins).

agree. from metabar ebuilds:

DEPEND="|| ( kde-base/konqueror >=kde-base/kdebase-3.3 )
        !>=kde-base/konq-plugins-3.5.0"

and since we only have kde-3.5.{5,6} in portage, metabar is useless.

pmask and removing in 30 days? if nobody is against removing (and I think there's no reason for this ;) ), I do it.

In itself the blocker doesn't matter. If there's someone preferring this application over the one in kde-base/, that's fine. It doesn't even build here, though, so it's masked now and will be gone, unless someone wants to maintain it.
