this seems like a portage issue.  Daniel, the SRC_URI contains a USE dependent
fetch in it.  So, unless that USE flag is activated, this error will occur.  The
digest file, however, has been updated to contain digests for both files.

This appears to be working now.  It should really work in 1.9.2
