recordmydesktop-0.3.3.1 is out. The version number substitution is not required in the new ebuild.

Dependencies in both ebuilds are inadequate. See attachments for fixed version.

I tested this because the current offerings in portage just don't cut it, it works well on x86 and in my opinion is more stable than other screen recorders in portage* not to mention much higher quality.

* xvidcap for example (the "stable" version crashes all the time and the unstable audio quality is much lower than this ebuild)

I tested the newer ebuild with the improved dependencies.

bumped, thanks.
I didnt add the gtk frontend I'll have a look at it later on.

btw gtk-recordmydesktop is not needed by recordmydesktop afaik, so it must not be in PDEPEND.

gtk-recordmydesktop and recordmydesktop Tested on amd64. Works like a charm.

One point to note, as this was a fresh install I am starting afresh adding the packages I require when I have the need for them, as such gtkrecordmydesktop had a segmentation fault because libtheora had not been built with the encode use flag.

However the gtk frontend did not crash and produced a nice popup telling me the backend had crashed. This prompted me to check the backend on it's own then check the dependencies to see if I'd missed anything.
