Description Mark De Sousa 2007-01-28 21:17:55 UTC
Running gentoo handbook for fresh install, after first reboot all seem well. "emerge --deep --update world" has aprox 300 pkgs to update when libart_lgpl-2.3.17 gives a seg fault
Re-emerging results in the same fashion. I have saved stdout & stderr and preprocessing.
StdERR seems to segfault at art_render.c:177"internal compiler error" I would like to include my make.conf as well but I don't know how to attach the files and I am left to using lynx to submit the bug.
Please letme know what information would be benificial to include. My make.conf may be a bit agressive I will tune it down a bit
CFLAGS:"-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe -finline-functions -fgcse-sm -floop-optimize2 -ftree-loop-linear -fvariable-expansion-in-unroller

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.clean intenet install from stage3 following handbook
2.system boots from custom kernel image to prompt
3.emerge --deep --update --newuse world
Actual Results:
about 30 packages of about 300 go well and lib-art segfaults. After running command 'emerge ...' again
redirecting stdout & err to a file it shows the faulty function is "art_render.c: in function 'art render clear render 8'

Expected Results:
I expected all to emerge flawlessly and angles to sing from the heavens!!

Nothing to do with developer relations.

Use sane CFLAGS. Re-open if it still fails.
