this is most likely not a kernel problem. your laptop's mobo is in charge of the fan - it should be turned on in any case, regardless of hibernate and especially regardless of the kernel's sleep-state implementation. contact compaq to see if there is a bios update. In addition you are using completely unsupported kernel that's not even distributed by Gentoo. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-kernel.xml#doc_chap2 This also happens in suspend2-sources. Thanks for the advice ill have to find a way to update the bios. |
