According to the man page pkgspec = <cat/>package-name<-version>

# equery depends pkgspec
should display something when you submit something else other than the package-name but it doesn't

I wanted to know what packages depended on what version of sys-libs/db. I have both 4.2.52_p4-r2 and 4.3.29-r2 versions.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. equery depends db # If other package with same name exists it lists both separately. 
(...)list of packages(...) # no problem here

2. equery depends sys-libs/db
(...)list of packages(...) # no problem here

3. equery depends db-4.2.52_p4-r2
No results here.
The same happens with "db-4.3.29-r2"

4. equery depends sys-libs/db-4.2.52_p4-r2
No results here.
The same happens with "sys-libs/db-4.3.29-r2"

On 3 and 4 I also tried using the slot number instead of the version but no juice.


Expected Results:  
It should have displayed the versions that depended on the versions used in the query.
