Being that you can have multiple versions installed, revisions aren't really helpful. The idea behind the version line is to give a good overview of the system. If you need revisions of gcc, you can find them... I'm fine with how it is though. It's more for bug tracking purposes. For example maybe something works in gcc-3.2.1-r6 but not in gcc-3.2.1-r5. It's more of a logical thing. And as far as the multiple versions it should give the version of the currently selected version. |
