Description Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-15 14:00:01 UTC
Please drop the unconditional sys-apps/hotplug dependency from the ebuilds wrt
Bug 147006 and Bug 145809; hotplug is not needed for this to work, see

http://www.opensc-project.org/openct/wiki/OperatingSystems
http://www.opensc-project.org/openct/wiki/QuickStart

Suggested new dependency would be something like:

|| ( >=sys-fs/udev-096 >=sys-apps/hotplug-20040923 )

Would be nice to get >=0.6.9 stabilized on remaining arches as well, so that the lower versions could be punted.

Thanks.
Comment 1 petre rodan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-15 19:24:17 UTC
jakub, thanks for the very descriptive bug report.

I agree with the change, but my only question is why do you ask me to use ">=sys-fs/udev-096" dependency instead of a versionless "sys-fs/udev".

I ask because AFAICT there is no >=sys-fs/udev-096 available for alpha amd64 mips and ppc. this means that those arches will be forced to install hotplug and create problems like those seen in bug 147006.

if a versionless one-of-many dependency suits you, I'll change the ebuilds in notime.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-15 19:43:00 UTC
Well, these hotplug issues are only hit w/ >=udev-0.96 which bundles hotplug/coldplug functionality. Anyway, there's Bug 159871 for udev-103 stabilization. :)
Comment 3 petre rodan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-15 21:01:12 UTC
arches please test and stabilize dev-libs/openct-0.6.11-r1

jakub also likes version 0.6.9 for some unknown reason :)

thanks
Comment 4 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-19 22:08:39 UTC
ppc64 stable
Comment 5 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-06 14:01:23 UTC
Mike, could you handle this for amd64? I think you're the only one who can actually verify this works.
Comment 6 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-12 14:18:50 UTC
amd64 stable
Comment 7 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-12 14:22:58 UTC
Er, there's four arches left.
Comment 8 petre rodan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-25 18:16:52 UTC
only ~alpha ~hppa ~mips ~ppc remaining
I've got cookiiiiies =)
Comment 9 Tobias Scherbaum (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-06 20:28:53 UTC
ppc stable
Comment 10 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-08 15:49:28 UTC
I'm removing the stable mips keyword from 0.5.0 as per discussions with eroyf. No one in the mips herd has any smartcard hardware to test this with. As such mips really can't test and can't mark a newer version stable. Since packages only dep on this by USE flag, I'm adding the USE flags to use.mask for mips, again as per discussions with eroyf. Currently there are two USE flags which enable openct's usage. openct and smartcard. I have opened bug #177657 regarding that.
Comment 11 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-16 09:48:37 UTC
@alpha, hppa - anyone of you have a hardware for this? If not, this can be easily use.masked and the stable keyword dropped as noted above.

Thanks. :)
Comment 12 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-16 10:25:35 UTC
Wolf is the only who has that hardware in alpha, so we'll have to wait for him.
Comment 13 Guy Martin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-25 20:39:51 UTC
Stable on hppa. Tested with PertoSmart EMV (AC1038, USB).
Comment 14 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-10 18:06:06 UTC
Well... Before this long cycle complete, we need to stabilize a new version...

alpha, mips, sh - please tell me if you wish to remove from stable. The old ebuild (0.5.0) does not work anyway.

Thanks!
Comment 15 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-10 22:21:43 UTC
I cannot find a version number to stabilize. You want us to stabilize dev-libs/openct-0.6.14?
Comment 16 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-11 05:33:17 UTC
Yes.
Thanks!
Comment 17 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2007-11-11 13:47:29 UTC
x86 stable
Comment 18 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-11 15:21:55 UTC
it does:

doexe etc/openct_usb || die

even with USE="-usb"

but it's not a regression, amd64 stable
Comment 19 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-13 17:50:20 UTC
no hardware on alpha/ia64, so feel free to drop the stable keyword
Comment 20 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-13 18:17:43 UTC
ppc64 stable
Comment 21 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-25 16:13:31 UTC
ppc stable
Comment 22 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-11 17:21:19 UTC
arm/s390/sh/m68k done by Mike, you should adjust your ChangeLog message, you always miss m68k there.
Comment 23 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-12 22:39:58 UTC
Removing mips wrt http://www.gentoo.org/news/20080210-mips-experimental-arch.xml
Comment 24 Friedrich Oslage (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-21 16:49:39 UTC
I use.masked openct and dropped the ~sparc keyword, no hardware to test.

Feel free to remove the remaining stable versions.
Comment 25 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-30 09:49:25 UTC
What now?

ia64 stable, even if i can't test it...
Comment 28 Daniel Black (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-31 00:27:37 UTC
sorry alpha folks - i purged 0.5.0 as per comment #14 and would like 0.6.14 stable.
Comment 29 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-31 15:54:10 UTC
openct is use.masked, so its fine now.
