I modified the media-video/vlc-0.8.6-r1 official ebuild to build vlc player using xulrunner (instead of mozilla-firefox (not the binary version) or seamonkey).

Next time please submit an unified diff (diff -u) of the original versus modified ebuild.

I'll look into this if someone from Mozilla team can confirm, as I have no clue about nsplugins and all the rest myself.

You could accecpt the ebuild, but as I have said there are no plans for xulrunner-1.8.x to ever go stable. It was unmasked so maintainers could get an understanding of xulrunner with their applications.

as xulrunner has a stable version, I've merged your changes and added support for building against xulrunner for 0.9.0 snapshot
