Description Klaus Kusche 2003-02-20 15:02:22 UTC
With emerge 2.0.47-r2, "emerge rsync" fails: Instead of performing the rsync,
the rsync program just displays the usage message and
"rsync error: syntax or usage error (code 1) at main.c(798)" and exits.
Obviously, emerge is calling rsync with wrong arguments.

Downgrading to 2.0.46-r12 (without touching any files in /etc manually) solves
the problem (emerge rsync works fine), upgrading to 2.0.47-r2 makes the problem
reappear.

Comment 3 Klaus Kusche 2003-02-23 12:43:00 UTC
Additional info: I tried to replace the rsync by a simple echo and analyzed the output. There were several options (as far as I can tell, all of them were ok) followed by "/usr/portage", but ***no source*** to rsync with!
Comment 4 Klaus Kusche 2003-02-23 12:44:49 UTC
Problem still exists.
