Description Robert T Childers 2007-01-07 18:17:22 UTC
After updating alsa-headers, and alsa-lib I get the following error when sound system is initialized. Sound System Software Renderer Initializing...
ALSA lib pcm.c:2109:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_empty.so.

Just updating alsa-headers doesn't cause this error.
Original Version alsa-lib-1.0.13

I run the kernel compiled alsa drivers, compiled as a module in the 2.6.17 kernel.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.upgrade alsa-lib from 1.0.13 to 1.0.14_rc1
2.
3.

Actual Results:
sound system fails to load /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_empty.so resulting in no sound.

Expected Results:
Sound system should have intialized and run properly. Note i have looked and can't find a libasound_module_pcm_empty.so file on my system. Nor does equery belongs libasound_module_pcm_empty.so produce a package that it would belong to.
