are you sure you don't have xchat-systray installed too? I thought it was just a plugin, not something incompatible... xchat-2.8.0 now includes it's own tray icon, hence you get two tray icons. xchat-systray has some more feature, this is why don't block them. emerge xchat should print an informational message about this, when you have xchat-systray installed. You can disable the builtin icon under Preferences -> Chatting -> Alerts -> Enable system tray icon |
