related to bug 133503.

I know that mod_ssl is only for apache 1. although I had the latest apache (2) already installed, a misinformed "emerge mod_ssl" then began to install apache 1.0. I am pretty sure that this is not what most people who have apache installed want---i.e., an installation of an earlier apache in addition to the existing apache.

I think it would make sense for packages that refer strictly to apache 1.x to be blocked by apache 2.x, rather than trigger emerging of apache 1.x on top of the existing apache 2.x.

hope this helps.

regards,

/ivo

No, it couldn't. It would prevent users from installing both apache-1 and apache-2 (it's slotted).
