After upgrading evolution to 2.8.2.1, on 2 PCs, one with gnome, and another with xfce. I haven't this problem with another with kde.
I have a big search form (http://www.novazur.fr/local/evolution_big_search_form.jpg).
Even after deleting ~/.evolution, I still have this.
I don't know what to try.
I didn't find anything in the forums nor in bug tracer.

After a long work with profiles, I managed to have it working fine.
I had to remove $HOME/.gconfd/saved-state and $HOME/.gconf/apps/evolution/, to kill gconfd, and restart evolution.
