http://tinyurl.com/lheck *plop* From bug report #158830: "Removing the .gaim dir seemed to fix the problem." I tried that. Removed the .gaim dir and the problem still occurs. I too am using sys-apps/dbus-0.62-r2. Might be a dbus problem similar to that of #149402. Just a guess (In reply to comment #2) > From bug report #158830: "Removing the .gaim dir seemed to fix the problem." > > I tried that. Just a guess > If you believe this is the problem try upgrading to dbus-1.0.2 0.6x is known to have problems maybe net-im should just go ahead and force the new dbus-1.0.2. backtrace
I believe I had a related issue. Gaim would crash as soon as I accepted a download, I've attached the backtrace. I stupidly entered this into the gaim tracker instead of here https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100235&aid=1628728&group_id=235 despite the message when emerging. datallah kindly suggested using -dbus -mono which I have done and it appears to work fine now. I upgraded to dbus-1.0.2 Aside from a world of pain due to dependency issues with things like HAL, it fixed the problem. Therefore dbus-1.0.2 should be a dep for this package. However the problems with packages like HAL and others will need to be addressed. Please, test with net-im/pidgin-2.0.2 and reopen if needed; gaim is dead. |
