Azureus gives lots of nice little errors by trying to open ports if installed without upnp, because upnp is enabled by default in the program. It would be nice if this behavior could be changed without a upnp flag, and if it could be enabled and also pull in net-misc/upnp as a dep if the upnp flag is enabled (that ebuild got my upnp working in azureus, I don't know if there's some other way). It's just an idea, keep up the good work.

Where do you get these errors? To some file inside .azureus/logs?

The errors were coming from the upnp plugin logs, but were more about issues changing ports due to devices, and not about being unable to talk to the upnp device. It would seem that adding the upnp program didn't fix it after all, it worked itself out.
