back to herd; maintainer retired...

We need to find someone who has an MTP device to maintain this as nobody in the herd seems to have one currently.

Updated libmtp ebuild

This is a updated version of the libmtp ebuild in Portage (with econf etc. this time ;)). I've changed the libusb dependency as mentioned in the INSTALL file and disabled static linking. If anyone wants the old patch I may quickly update it again, yet I don't see a reason to unneccesary patch optional example files.
It builds fine here, but currently I can't test it as my mtp-device still hates me.
Regards

I have a MTP device and I actively develop higher level software specifically for MTP devices. I actually use libgphoto2, however I am familiar with libmtp (and am maintaining ebuilds for the gphoto project) and will keep a libmtp ebuild up to date :)

I have a small overlay for my gphoto ebuilds that I will keep an updated libmtp ebuild in; you can browse for this ebuild at: http://sting.vanstaveren.us/trunk/overlay/gphoto/media-libs/libmtp

The only change I made was to update the description to match that in the libmtp.pc file; everything else is fine.

I've tested the posted ebuild for a while and it works good; udev permissions work fine (and are actually a bit too agressive, but I'll fix that later). Have not tested just yet with gnomad2; will give it a look soon.

metalgod has volunteered to be my proxy for the time being as he knows I will stay on top of maintaining this :)

media-libs/libmtp-0.1.2 works really good here. Request to put this into the official CVS.
Thank you!

Updated ebuild media/libs/libmtp-0.1.2

media-libs/libmtp-0.1.2 ebuild needs to block <=media-sound/amarok-1.4.4-r3, because Amarok-1.4.4 doesn't compile without a patch [1].
An updated amarok ebuild is already available [2].

This updated dependencies of media-libs/libmtp and media-sound/amarok require
to move the updated ebuilds concurrently to CVS to prevent non-resolvable
dependencies.

Using this ebuild and modifying the current amarok ebuild (amarok-1.4.4-r4) to include the libmtp-0.1.2 patch I can use my Creative Zen Vision:M successfully from within amarok.

Thanks
