strace ouptut
MPD_HOST="localhost" strace mpc &> strace.mpc
The strace output suggests that mpc resolves localhost as, and is trying to connect to, ::1 - this might be a bug in mpc (inconsistent behavior between mpd and mpc, as mpd picks first entry for localhost, while mpc picks last). If you're not content with using the workaround, please file a bug upstream, or suggest a change to mpd package (perhaps default bind explicitly to "127.0.0.1" or "::1", depending on the ipv6 USE flag). I don't have an ipv6 setup available, so I can't debug much here. Reported upstream. Report ID 0001419 under section mpc. (In reply to comment #3) > Reported upstream. Report ID 0001419 under section mpc. > Closing as UPSTREAM, since this is being taken care of by upstream devs. I'm watching the upstream bug. Thanks for reporting it. |
