kid-0.9.4 was released on november 26th. it fixes a few bugs and provides many new enhancements, including proper Python 2.5 support.

thanks for the quick ebuild.

python-2.5 includes dev-python/elementtree as module xml.etree.

the depends should be something like:
DEPEND="|| ( >=dev-lang/python-2.5
             ( >=dev-lang/python-2.3 
               >=dev-python/elementtree-1.2.6 ) )"
