We have warning after warning on the networking pages that if you're messing about with advanced things like home DNS servers, then you are supposed to read /etc/conf.d/net.example. We will not be duplicating the information in that file here in the handbooks; its examples are too complex, numerous, and specific to include in the handbook. Did you not see the green note below the DNS example? "Note: For more information on configuring DNS and NIS, please read the examples provided in /etc/conf.d/net.example. Also, you may want to emerge resolvconf-gentoo to help manage your DNS/NIS setup." Not a bug, closing. |
