I think this is a change in bash. I moved the "code" (a couple of aliases and some bash history control) that I added to /etc/profile to /etc/bash/bashrc and it seems to work fine. Looks like: 1) your pb is solved, and it was related to some of your bash settings 2) since it also affected your xterm session it was not really konsole related 3) nobody had the same issue meanwhile This bug should be closed.
