Description Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-03 09:50:37 UTC
We do have a from source package, dev-java/avalon-logkit. This should be used instead of dev-java/avalon-logkit-bin. And on a side note, -bin is not migrated, whereas non-bin is not.

Nothing seems to be using avalon-logkit-bin at the moment. Perhaps we could get away with doing a pkgmove?

avalon-logkit-bin has a newer version available and stable than avalon-logkit. We first need to make 1.2.2 available in avalon-logkit and go stable with that. It should use -r1 out of the box to top avalon-logkit-bin versions.

Actually 1.2.2 is a -dev version so we can get away with doing ~1.2 in the stuff that is depending on avalon-logkit and force a downgrade.

Where did you find that it's a -dev version? I see no -dev in the filename here http://www.apache.org/dist/avalon/logkit/source/

Anyway, I don't see a problem with the downgrade, but would like to have the migrated version stable first.
