Using cross compiling methods with crossdev described in
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/embedded/cross-development.xml

Target machine is i386-[vendor]-linux-uclibc

        libpci.so => not found (0x00000000)
        libc.so.6 => not found (0x00000000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00000000)

It appears dynamic libs have been dropped from pciutils in favour of static.
Shouldnt pciutils and any other ebuilds heading in the same direction at least
have a USE flag to enable dynamic linking?

pciutils is an important component of my embedded uclibc compile. I am unsure of
ways around my problem and any help of feedback on this matter will be greatly
appriciated.

I haven't fixed the libc.so.6 problem yet as I have been thinking either its
because I have minimal set for uclibc or I just need to symbolic link it to
/usr/lib/libc.so.

the hwsetup package is broken here, not the toolchains

it ignores CC and CFLAGS among other things

OK.  I might have solved this.  I updated the hwsetup ebuild, but also added 1.2 to the tree.  See if either resolve the issue for you.  I even fixed the LDFLAGS/CFLAGS/CC problems.

Since I don't have the time necessary to test this fix, can you verify it?  I'm marking this as NEEDINFO, since it's been a while.  If it is still broken, please REOPEN the bug and we'll look at what else we can try.
