Description Jeff Hansen 2006-11-29 13:54:07 UTC
When building an rpm using rpmbuild-4.4.6-r3, I see the following error:

...
Processing files: .....
Segmentation fault
$

It segfaults after the "Processing files" step. I've traced it down to the magic files not being properly installed into /usr/lib/rpm (by the rpm ebuild), so libmagic (from file-4.17-r1) segfaults.

This also seems like a bug in libmagic since libmagic should give some feedback as to missing magic files, rather than causing a segfault.

Workaround: I've copied over the magic files (magic, magic.mgc, magic.mime, magic.mime.mgc) from an older rpm ebuild and it works fine.
