That's helpful. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this to the Gentoo bug list. My rationale was that my entire system (except gnome-applets) is installed through Portage. I'll try to install the blackdown-jre from either source (if available), or from a binary package from Blackdown's site. I'll resubmit the bug to them if it still happens with the non-portage installation. I apologise if I posted this to the wrong place. We appreciate you taking the time to file this bug, however this problem relates to a binary package (blackdown-jre) which we are, unfortunately, unable to fix. You might try taking this bug upstream to the blackdown people, though.
