There is an unrelated bug on current tracker here which makes it fail to compile (on all arches) under some conditions, see bug 147470. (You might want to wait until this has been fixed) I'd still argue that it deserves the ~amd64 just as it deserves ~x86. please post emerge --info, thanks I have tracker-0.5.4-r1 working on my amd64 box.
