I have colortail set-up..the /etc/profile has been updated..all is good. Tail a
log, I get color fine, everything looks peachy.However if try to tail a fast
moving file..like the kernel logs, it immediately segfaults after throwing up
three lines of unrecognizable symbols. I have also cut flags down to a straight
-O2 with no help.Is this a compiler issue, or does the program just suck?

strace it and attach the strace log please

I tried the latest release with the same results, I'm popping this cantfix unless theres objections, I think its more a package problem than gentoo-related, and have lost interest in this anyhow:)

i think it is an upstream bug, but upstream seems not to be active anymore...

alternative to colortail ar ccze and Generic Colouriser, if you wish an ebuild
for them, open a new bug :)
