*** Bug 155226 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #1) > *** Bug 155226 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Sorry, bugs.gentoo.org didn't respond after my first submit. More symlinks fun \o/ /usr/bin/pdftex exists here and is a symlink to /usr/bin/pdfetex. Do you have the latter? If yes, a quick and dirty fix is to add the symlink yourself, but we need to come with a clean fix. Would it be possible for you to provide a (gzipped) full log of the emerge of tetex? Thanks. I already tried that but then I get: *** make `thumbpdf.pdf' / run pdfTeX *** *** parse `thumbpdf.pdf' *** *** clear temp files *** !!! Error: `obj' expected on line 2! Just another error ;-) > Would it be possible for you to provide a (gzipped) full log of the emerge of > tetex? Thanks. Sure, please tell me how. I found a log in /var/log/portage/elog but that's probably not what you need. Do you want me to remerge it and capture the output? Sorry, if I'm asking stupid questions here, any pointers are welcome Stefan Hum, something looks really broken in your tetex install, then. It should definitely work with a symlink. What I'm after, yes, is a full output of an emerge session. You can use the nice "tee" util if you want to monitor it as well. Thanks. Created attachment 102941 [details]
tetex merge log
I have the same problem of pdftex not being available after the merge. Happens reliably for me on ~amd64 and ~ppc-macos. Only in prefix though. Emerge log attached.
Fixing the pdflatex symlink doesn't solve the problem but results in other errors for files not found, etc.
Hi, sorry for the delay. I could now provide another tetex merge log, but I think it's superfluous now that Fabian provided one, right? Regards Stefan please do provide it, because my setup is pretty non-standard. Created attachment 103787 [details]
bzipped_emerge_tetex_output
I created this file with:
shell> emerge tetex | tee /tmp/emerge_tetex.log
shell> bzip2 /tmp/emerge_tetex.log
I think you should try texlive. At least that one seems not to have this weird stuff. tetex is dead, long live texlive removed from the tree, wontfix |
