Can you please update to the latest versions and try again? I did a fresh install of cups, ghostscript and gimp-print. Versions are: net-print/cups-1.2.9 app-text/ghostscript-esp-8.15.3 media-gfx/gimp-print-4.2.7 It still doesn't work. I also tried the unstable (~sparc) versions, with exactly the same results. Exactly the same setup on a x86 system works just fine, so I expect the problem to be sparc-specific. The exact error is: [10/Apr/2007:08:04:45 +0200] PID 607 (/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster) crashed on signal 10! I can't find exactly where it was again, but I did read somewhere that ghostscript doesn't always play nice with 64 bit systems. Perhaps the problem lies there? yeah most likely ghostscript related. You could play around with ghostscript-gpl/-gnu or -esp different versions as you like :) If you still care feel free to post something about it then. Well, I'm in the middle of updating my systems anyway, might as well give this one another try. I'll test it ASAP. Now where did I put that USB cable... Well, I tried all the latest versions of ghostscript-esp, ghostscript-gpl and ghostscript-gnu. They all fail in exactly the same way, with a SIGBUS in pstoraster. :-( could you try gimp-print-5 please? Last comment was in 2007, all versions referenced are not in the tree anymore. I think we can resolve this. If you disagree, please reopen. |
