This fixes several problems with current stable preview-latex and auctex (both packages are now combined).
To test, add

   (load "/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-gentoo")

To your ~/.emacs file.

Open Emacs by `emacs test.tex`, hold <Ctrl>, press "c" and "e" and follow the instructions in the minibuffer (the line at the end).

USE=preview-latex only
load the file circ.tex attached to this bug and hold <Ctrl> and press the keys "c", "p" and "b".  There is an intentional error (you can see it by the comments around the region).

By the way, you leave Emacs by the menu or <Ctrl> plus "x" and "c".
