Description onip 2006-11-04 08:48:12 UTC
I'm running compiz on AIGLX with nvidia drivers. When I start it with 'compiz-nvidia' command I get a sort of error line. Any plugins I active seem to work correctly but the window decoration is absent. I'm running Gnome-2.16 and metacity-2.16.3

onip @ Hal9000 ~ $ compiz-nvidia
compiz: decoration: property ignored because version is 0 and decoration plugin version is 20061011

This last line repeats several times. If I try to run compiz in a root session it works correctly. this seems to me a compiz confguration error for my user, but even removing ~/.gconf/apps/compiz and ~/.gconf/apps/gwd didn't help.

Maybe is this related to former compiz installations? (In ancients xgl-times)

Thanks

I forgot. If you need any info just ask

Try beryl now :) (with emerald). It's a fork of compiz.

I know of beryl and emerald, but it seems to me that compiz is way more "lightweight".
In any case if compiz is in portage it should work

I've found the origin of the problem. I tried quitting from beryl-manager which used to start every session and then starting compiz gave me all eye-candy AND decorations.

Sorry for this bug-report
