grub-static fails to copy the stage files to /boot/grub. It also fails to create the menu.lst -> grub.conf symlink inside of /boot/grub

I copied the relevant code from the grub ebuild..  it seems to work

No, I dont really like modifying stable ebuilds... that have been there unmodified for many years.

That said, we should stable 0.97.

Thanks. This was nothing to do with the recent bump that I did, but I did have this noted on my todo list. Also I will be requesting 0.97 to go stable soon, once it's been around a while longer.
