Nope. It's supposed to be /etc/rc.conf. Setting it in rc.conf (which is what you're *supposed to do*) overrides /etc/conf.d/xdm. Don't believe everything you read on the forums. ;) with newer baselayouts we have moved it out of rc.conf and into xdm ... but that version is not stable at the moment I believe this is as of: "sys-apps/baselayout-1.12.6". Which doesn't appear to be masked for any architecture... Really it still works for either... looks like 1.12.6 was put straight into stable either way, you are correct ... defining DISPLAYMANAGER in rc.conf will work just as well as conf.d/xdm *** Bug 154000 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
