Description Rohde Fischer 2006-10-29 14:08:32 UTC
If it is possible I and probably a lot of users would like to see the date for removal of xmms to be later than planned. The reason it should be delayed is that if people want an Winamp-like mediaplayer the only alternative is Audacious, but many users, including myself have some trouble that should be resolved before Audacious is an alternative. Another reason to delay it is that people can get their packages updated when newer versions arrive in stead of recompiling for hours maybe days.

Note: this is not a discussion about the removal, since the maintainers have said the final word in this case. (Just in case)

No ofence meant, but this is certainly NOT an duplicate, the other bugs purpose is to prevent removal, this is only to delay the removal to give the users a better chance.

Don't need more bugs for discussing removal of this really.

Well as said I don't want to discus the removal since it is unavoidable and since I agree that it is old and a replacement is needed, but I still believe the warning is too short.

But well I don't want to argue further since if the decision about the time of removal isn't going to change there is no point in keeping this bug (even though I disagree with it being a duplicate). Sorry for wasting your time then.
