When I try to emerge mozilla-firefox-2.0 the build fails with:

Did you try w/ MAKEOPTS="-j1" ?

DISTCC and MAKEOPTS are busted once again I will look into this as soon as I finish getting mozilla out of tree. i.e Monday at the earliest.
