Description Charles Goodwin 2003-02-07 05:00:55 UTC
libmpeg2-0.3.1 wouldn't compile. the error was very similar to that for avifile
requiring libartsc.so (bug 8211 - now resolved) and the fix for 8211 worked for
this - creating a softlink from /usr/lib/libartsc.so to
/usr/kde/3.1/lib/libartsc.so - and libmpeg2 subsequently successfully compiled.

Reproducible: Always

IMHO all recent artsc problems are due to the line

dependency_libs=' -lm -L/usr/kde/3/lib -ldl -lartsc -lpthread -L/usr/lib -lesd -laudiofile -lm
-L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -lXext -lvga -ldl'

in /usr/lib/libSDL.la

For me remerging libsdl helped as it changed '/usr/kde/3/lib' to /usr/kde/3.1/lib' which is
correct for my system.

I'll try that suggestion.
It's pretty weird tho, if this application wants to use libartsc then shouldn't it just use artsc-config to get the available libs and their location?
Comment 3 Rutger Hendriks 2003-02-10 15:55:25 UTC
After remerging libsdl it still didn't work. Then I remerged libdv and that fixed my problem (which had to do with mjpegtools not compiling due to same 'couldn't find libartsc'-error). Thanx for putting me on the right track;-)
