After updating from 5.0.24 to 5.0.26-r1 its impossible to connect to localhost via Socket.

Message:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket ''/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'' (2) at ./abc.pl line 45

MySQL is running, the "mysql" command line client connects to socket as expected. Reemerging of dev-perl/DBI and dev-perl/DBD-mysql did not help.

This is reproduceable on all my machines.
