Here is the config.log showing a failure to locate openssl.
I don't know whether the ntp package or the profile is at fault here. On my workstation, which is multilib, /usr/lib is a symlink to /usr/lib64. On this system, which is hardened/amd64, /usr is a directory with only: ccache/ gcc/ gentoolkit/ misc/ perl5/ portage/ sendmail This makes sense to me, but I don't know that it's right. I don't think I did anything special to make things end up this way, which is why I filed the bug. not a ntp issue ... i'd suggest you hop on the amd64 mail/irc lists and ask around |
