b44.ko module from kernel.org fails when trying to use ethtool utility. This problems are fixed with newest 1.00g driver from broadcom company site.

this is the source for b44 module that works fine for kernel 2.6.12 - 2.6.17 and hardened

Please, don't restrict bugs without any reason.

Why is this bug assigned to hardened@ ?

(1) hardened doesn't care (directly) about non-working standard kernel stuff (while kernel@ does)

(2) current policy is to get stuff fixed in mainline rather than adding external modules to the portage tree

So please clarify and reopen this bug.
