I've tried this same ebuild on another box upgraded from 2005 - 2006.0 - 2006.1 with the following and it had no problems compiling this one:

[ebuild     UD] mail-client/evolution-2.6.2-r1 [2.8.0] USE="crypt dbus gstreamer%* hal ipv6 kerberos ldap mono nntp profile spell ssl -bogofilter -debug -doc -krb4* -pda -widescreen%" 0 kB

This laptop this ebuild is failing on just had a clean install of 2006.0 and upgraded to 2006.1.

Sorry about the misinformation. My other box is running evolution-2.8.1-r1 and not this version I posted about! ... this might be a bug fixed upstream.

I've unmasked the latest version available and I'm guessing this *should* compile ok.  If not, I'll repost.
