Description Hubert Hanghofer 2003-02-04 03:01:17 UTC
after succesfully installing some netscape xpi add-ons, mozilla 1.2.1 didn't
start, reclaiming missing libstdc++ libraries. Trying to remove the add-ons
manually finally resulted in a rebuild of mozilla (on a 350 Mhz machine!)

Though it's not necessary for the mozilla core, I suggest you add a lib-compat
dependency to the mozilla ebuilds, chances are high that other's try to install
3rd party add-ons.

On the other hand - this was one of the last steps in my (otherwise very
succesful) gentoo install and me wonders, why lib-compat isn't installed in an
earlier level (eg base-system).

Cause its bloat and usually not used except for some binary stuff (which if
from portage does pull in libcompat). Ill check with the rest what is the
feeling about this.
